a report for in-house counsel
On Tuesday 19 May, Blake Lapthorn linked up with
LBC Wise Counsel to bring you
its 2009 series of regional discussion and networking events for
in-house lawyers.
The Solent forum, hosted at our office in Southampton,
was the final in a series of debates organised by LBC Wise Counsel
with an invited audience of in-house lawyers drawn from teams in
the South West, the South, the Midlands, and the North
West between February and May 2009. The in-house teams
attending the debates represented a wide cross section of sectors
and industries; the size of team represented also varied
considerably and ranged from one team with nearly one hundred fee
earners, to one with just two lawyers.
LBC Wise Counsel has now published a report summarising all of
the key points from the various discussions, adding its own
commentary and conclusions and developing its own assessment of the
issues facing legal services going forward. A copy of the full
report, entitled
Managing for value in a recession, can be viewed/downloaded
using the link below:

We will be hosting another forum with LBC Wise Counsel later in
the autumn at our Southampton office. If you are interested in
attending this second Solent forum, please email Adam Saturley and
he will forward you the details in due course. In the
meantime, if you would like to discuss the report findings in more
detail, please contact Dawn Jones at LBC Wise
Counsel; alternatively, for more information about how we can help,
please call your usual contact at Blake Lapthorn.
