Head of Rail group
Peter is head of our Rail sector group, and also leads our
construction and engineering project practice on the South
Coast. He specialises in construction and engineering law,
competition and public procurement law, rail regulation, telecoms
and technology law and related project finance. He has broad
experience of rail, construction and engineering projects including
PPP and PFI, and his work ranges from significant commercial,
industrial and leisure developments through to railway
infrastructure and rolling stock, power plant and international
telecoms systems.
Peter is a past winner of the Society of
Construction Law’s Hudson prize, has published several papers on
construction law and taught on the MSc degree course on Advanced
Construction Law at Kings College, London. He was a member of
the RIBA’s Liability Committee when framing the BPF standard forms
of collateral warranty.
Peter is a member of numerous sector-related
task groups, including the CBI South East and its Major Transport
Projects Working Party, the Hampshire Economic Partnership
Transport and Logistics Task Group and the Hampshire Economic
Partnership Construction Task Group. He is also a member of
the Society of Construction Law, the Law Society European Group and
the Wine Society. In 2005 Peter became a director and trustee
of the Theatre Royal, Winchester, and City Eye (Southampton
community film making).
Peter speaks French, Italian and
Spanish. His personal interests include singing and acting,
including opera, oratorio and musicals, and he is a baritone
soloist.
