Sue joined the firm in 2002, and specialises in cerebral palsy
claims, acting on behalf of children and adults damaged at birth as
a result of medical negligence. She runs our cerebral palsy
helpline and is commited to giving practical advice, including
rehabilitation guidance, as well as legal help. She is also
an experienced receiver, representing clients who cannot manage
their own affairs. Recent successes include two cases
settled in 2007 where the damages totalled almost £9 million, some
of the highest ever awarded in this country. Being a
specialist in this area, Sue often succeeds with difficult cases,
where other solicitors may have failed to establish a claim.
Sue is a member of the Law Society's Clinical
Negligence and Personal Injury panels. She also sits
on two Legal Services Commission review panels, which review
decisions by the legal aid board.
