Simon joined the firm in 1999 from Allen
& Overy, and specialises in drafting and negotiating technology
and outsourcing contracts for suppliers and end users, and in
advising on non-contentious intellectual property (IP). He
also has experience in data protection including international
issues, electronic commerce law, software and patent/technology
licensing, and competition law. He advises leading banks,
software houses, IT consultancies, public sector research and
grants bodies, universities and art market clients, on all aspects
of technology, outsourcing and IP.
Simon is an Associate of the Chartered
Institute of Patent Attorneys and a member of the British Literary
and Artistic Copyright Association and the Licensing Executives
Society. He is also the author of several books on copyright
law; he co-edited the Sweet & Maxwell Encyclopedia of E
Commerce Law; and he is a Visiting Research Fellow at
Bournemouth Law School.
Simon is also a non-stipendiary
minister in the Church of England.
