Alison specialises in
legacy management,
advising finance departments on ways
to generate income, assisting charities who are appointed
as executors or residuary beneficiaries of wills, and dealing with
legal and tax issues arising from gifts made to charities.
Alison has broad experience of charity law and governance,
including the formation of trusts and liaising with the
Charity
Commission, advising on
charity
structures and restructuring,
trustees' duties and charity
schemes and orders.
Alison is a member of the Charity Law Association and the
Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners. She regularly speaks at
seminars and workshops for charities and provides training for
trustees and legacy officers. She is a trustee of a number of
charities and is familiar with the practical issues facing trustees
on a day-to-day basis. Alison holds the Society of Trust and Estate
Practitioners (STEP) diploma, and she regularly writes for leading
journals on charity issues.
