When applying to Blake Lapthorn for a training contract, you can also opt to take part in our vacation scheme. The scheme runs for four weeks between June and July and gives participants the opportunity to spend two days with a legal team in one of the firm's offices. A third day is spent at our New Kings Court office in Southampton on an assessment day which will include psychometric tests, a group exercise, a drafting exercise and interview with a senior member of the firm.

To take part in our vacation scheme, just select the 'work placement' box when completing the online application form for your training contract. If you are successful you will be contacted by a member of the HR and Training team who will ask you which of the vacation scheme dates (see 2012 dates below) you are available for and also let you know which areas of law are available for placements on these dates. Once you have let us know which dates and area of law you would like for your placement then we will write to you confirming this with information about the office you will be visiting and who to ask for on your first day.

We typically have space for 60 applicants on the vacation scheme assessment days and look to fill these prior to the general assessment days which we run after the vacation scheme has finished for those applying for a training contract but not taking part in the vacation scheme.
