do you offer part-time training
contracts?
Each application is considered on its merit
and as long as each selected candidate meets the required standards
we would consider offering a part-time training contract.

top
is there a minimum degree class for
applicants?
We prefer applicants to have a minimum 2:1 at
degree level.
We do not automatically dismiss those with a
lower qualification. However, due to the high number of
applications we receive each year it may be more difficult to gain
a place on our short list. At Blake Lapthorn we look for more
than just academic achievement and do consider candidates with a
2:2 if they can demonstrate, in their examples, that they have
something more to offer, ie high-quality work experience within a
legal setting.

I do not have a degree in law, can I still

Yes, Blake Lapthorn has a diverse workforce
and we welcome applicants with wider work experience and
education. You will be required to complete the Graduate
Diploma in Law (GDL) or the Common Professional Examination (CPE)
in addition to the Legal Practice Course (LPC) prior to the
commencement date of the training contract year for which you are
applying.
