As many of you will be aware the Children's International Arts
Organisation (CIAO!) have been working with ten Oxfordshire primary
schools since January on the
Ark project.
The Ark project has involved environmental scientists and
artists working together with school children to translate what the
children have learnt about climate science into performance and
exhibition art works.
The culmination of the project is the building of a large scale
public art installation called "The
Ark" which will be built in front of the Oxford Museum of Natural History in
June to provide an exhibition space for the children to display
their work from the last six months.
Blake Lapthorn were delighted to host an extra special green
breakfast on the Ark on Friday 25 June on the front lawn of the
Oxford Museum of Natural History.
Children from both Wolvercote Primary School and St Michael's C
of E Primary School, Marston shared their findings, thoughts,
opinions and ideas with us, the "grown up" community, who have the
responsibility and ability to address today the concerns the
children have about their environment of tomorrow.
