Blake Lapthorn to hold event on the current issues affecting the Family Justice System in England and Wales

 

Blake Lapthorn is pleased to announce the following event, which is being run by the firm's Family team.  The event will take place on the evening of Tuesday 21 October at the firm's new office in Southampton - New Kings Court.

 

The evening drinks reception, which has as its guest speaker Mr Justice Paul Coleridge QC, will see a wide variety of attendees including barristers, lawyers, members of the judiciary, individuals from the Children and Family Court Advisory Support Service (CAFCASS), and other professionals, such as independent financial advisors and accountants from across the region.

 

Guest speaker at the event, Mr Justice Paul Coleridge QC, will provide attendees with a talk on the current issues affecting the family justice system in the UK.  He will focus on the most pertinent issues in this important area of the law and also provide an overview of his own career and experiences as a High Court judge.

Mr Justice Paul Coleridge QC is one of the most senior family law judges in the UK.  He made the headlines earlier this year by warning that the collapse of the family unit is a threat to the nation as bad as terrorism, crime, drugs or global warming.  In 2007 he supervised courtroom attempts to negotiate a voluntary divorce between Sir Paul McCartney and Heather Mills.
