Farm diversification not only reduces dependence on conventional
agricultural production but can also make better use of a farm’s
physical resources. It is likely that with the ongoing reform of
the Common Agricultural Policy and de-coupling of subsidy away from
production, farm diversification will become an integral part of
running many farm businesses.
Our Agricultural and Rural group
has experience of providing legal advice in relation to
establishing a variety of diversification activities including:
- conversion and alternative use of redundant farm buildings

bed and breakfast, camping and caravan sites

clay pigeon shooting, archery, mountain biking, quad bikes)
- farm shops, restaurants, distance selling of farm products and
ready-made meals
- rural crafts
