Blake Lapthorn's Aircraft Finance team receives recognition in leading aviation sector publication

Blake Lapthorn is pleased to announce that its Aircraft Finance team has been recognised by the aviation finance industry's leading publication, Airfinance Journal, in its 2011 legal survey as one of the top five law firms for this practice area.

Blake Lapthorn is one of only two firms to have featured in all categories in the latest survey alongside some well respected law firms.  The categories include:

  • Fairest Fees - ranked 1st
  • Deals Done Quickly - ranked 2nd
  • Best Industry Knowledge - ranked 3rd
  • After Deal Support - ranked 3rd
  • Most Commercially Aware - ranked 5th
  • Most Innovative - ranked 5th

Furthermore, Mark Turnbull, an associate in the firm's Aircraft Finance team, was named as a rising star in the Leading Associates Category.  The 'Rising Star' category receives around 300 nominations from associates recommended by their firms or clients for their outstanding work in the field.

Blake Lapthorn's Aircraft Finance team and Aviation sector group leader, Ben Graham-Evans, said: "We are delighted to have once again received such high recognition in the aviation finance industry's leading publication.  Further to our recent expansion, the team is now the largest aircraft finance practice outside of the mainstream City choices in the UK and this accolade reflects that."

"Moreover, many congratulations to Mark on being named as a Rising Star.  This is great news for both his personal reputation and the firm.  Having worked with Mark for the past five years, I know this is well deserved as he works hard to achieve client goals and his enthusiasm for this shows, which clients like.  As our team continues to develop I am hopeful that Mark will be the first of a generation of associates in our  Aircraft Finance team to gain this global recognition."

Blake Lapthorn's  Aircraft Finance team advises financiers, lessors, airlines, private individuals and manufactures on all aspects of aircraft finance and leasing, including export credit financing and pre-delivery payment financings.

In addition to aircraft finance and leasing, the Aviation group provides advice to clients across the international aviation industry, including, litigation and commercial negotiations, asset recovery, employment and resourcing, airport planning and property and other commercial aspects of aircraft maintenance, operation and air traffic control.
