corporate structuring

Risk limitation, management, compliance with the charity law restrictions on trading, tax, accounting and management requirements are factors that influence the structure of any charitable organisation.

Our Charities group has a comprehensive knowledge of the different legal corporate forms and have significant experience in commercial, corporate, transactional and structuring work, both in UK and internationally. Many of our corporate finance lawyers regularly advise charity clients on such issues and our work in this area is further supported by our in-house Corporate Tax team.

If charities do get into financial difficulties then we can help. We have one of the largest insolvency and business recovery teams of its kind in the country. Our services include advising charities on business turnaround rescues and the use of insolvency procedures and we frequently advise directors and trustees of their duties and responsibilities with regard to insolvency issues.
