charitable share of Big Lottery Fund good cause money to be
reduced
The Department for Culture, Media and Sport has confirmed that
as of September, arts, sports and heritage organisations will get
60 per cent of lottery 'good cause' money, whilst the voluntary and
community sector’s share will be reduced from 50% to 40%.
A consultation on the proposal will be open until 21 August. A
government spokesman has however stated that the arts, sports and
heritage sector was supportive of the move, which was "highly
likely" to go ahead.
The Government's structural reform plans also states that the
Big Lottery Fund must stop funding "politicised projects".
