charities encouraged to use technology
In a recent speech at the 2010 Conference of
the Association of Charity Independent Examiners the chief
executive of the Charity Commission, Andrew Hind, stated that
technology offers hope for charities worried about balancing their
books during the recession.
Andrew Hind urged charities to think
creatively as to how they could make use of advances in electronic
communication to cut costs and to improve their services. It was
stated that after losing thirty percent of its staff members in six
years (2005 – 2011) the Commission itself had switched to providing
more services online.
