Vetting and Barring Scheme registration stopped
It was announced by the Government that registration for the
Vetting and Barring Scheme (VBS) which was due to start on 26 July
has been halted. The pause will allow the Government to remodel the
scheme. Few details are as yet available about the scope of the
review of the scheme, which is being co-coordinated by the Home
Office, Department for Education and Department of Health. Further
details will be announced in due course.
Despite registration with the scheme being currently on hold,
the requirements which came into force in October last year remain
in place.
