We offer advice to charity legacy departments in both contentious and non-contentious matters including the following areas:

• probate: legacy fundraising, Will-writing, interpretation of Wills, tax planning, estates with businesses or foreign assets, estate accounts, appropriation of assets
• trusts: types of trusts and implications for charity beneficiaries, charity entitlement, recovery of legacies, acting as legacy officers where there is no legacy department, duties of the charity trustees
• court of Protection: statutory Will applications, capacity of testators
• contentious matters: defence of claims by testators’ relatives, capacity issues, fraud and undue influence, rectification of Wills, misconduct of Personal Representatives
