students' unions

Students’ unions provide a key role in both Higher and Further education in representing and promoting the interests of students and providing a major part of the ‘student experience’.

Students’ unions are already required to comply with charity law and related regulation.  With the Charities Act 2006 now passed, students’ unions may find themselves subject to greater regulation.  The Act has brought the issues of governance, trustees’ responsibilities and liabilities, campaigning, trading, taxation and VAT into focus for the sector as a whole.

Our Education team has a proven track record with both students’ unions and the wider charity sector, enabling us to provide a one-stop-shop for expert, efficient and effective advice.
