dispute resolution in the
construction industry

Our Construction and Development group comprises a team of
specialists experienced in advising on all types of projects and
disputes with values ranging from a few thousand pounds to the
multi-millions. We cover all sides of the industry; public and
private sector property owners, developers and funders, architects
and engineers, surveyors and project managers, contractors and
sub-contractors, suppliers and service providers.
There are four types of dispute resolution, which the
Construction and Development group can advise you on:
- litigation, which involves all aspects of litigation in the
courts including proceedings in the Technology and Construction
Court. On 1 October 2007, the Technology and Construction Court
issued a revised guide to the Court,

- arbitration, which include domestic and international
arbitration eg International Chamber of Commerce arbitration
- alternative dispute resolution which includes mediation. Blake
Lapthorn has a mediation offering, BL Resolve. This package enables
you to reach an effective solution through a streamlined process
and preserving relationships. Click here for further information on
BL
Resolve mediation.
- Adjudication under the Housing Grants Construction and
Regeneration act 1996 and standard form contract eg JCT forms
