OFT issues statements of objections

The Office of Fair Trading (OFT) has issued statements
of objections in relation to 112 organisations in the construction
sector it believes have been involved in bid-rigging and, in
particular, in cover-pricing activities.
The organisations will now be able to make representations to
the OFT before they decide on whether there has been a breach of
competition law. If found guilty, the organisations could be
subjected to fines of up to 10% of turnover.
