Richard specialises in
construction law and is the head of the Construction and
Development sector group. His practice focuses more on
non-contentious work, becoming increasingly engaged by a wide range
of developers, contractors and professionals on various commercial,
housing and mixed projects. He advises on procurement,
drafting and preparation of building contracts, professional
appointments and all related documentation (including warranties,
bonds, novation agreements and guarantees). Richard has
handled all of the major standard forms of building contract,
including PPC2000, NEC3 and the 2005 edition of the JCT
forms. He continues to handle disputes on a range of
contractual issues and has been instructed in numerous
contractual and statutory adjudications. Richard is a member
of the Technology & Construction Court Solicitors Association
(TeCSA), the Adjudication Society and he is the Oxford regional
co-ordinator of the Society of Construction Law.
