Blake Lapthorn's Public Sector group wins tender for
Waverley Borough Council

Blake Lapthorn is pleased to announce that it
has won a tender to provide legal services to Waverley Borough
Council (WBC).
The firm's Public Sector group has been
appointed by WBC in connection with the Council's Sport &
Leisure Facility Strategy.
WBC is situated in south-west Surrey. It
is a rural district (and the largest by geographic area in Surrey),
which borders East Hampshire and West Sussex. WBC wanted a
legal team to provide high quality, proactive legal advice to
complement its work already being undertaken in-house. The
specific areas of work that Blake Lapthorn will provide are for
construction and real estate/property.
The firm's Public Sector group has been chosen
as the sole legal adviser to WBC and has initially been appointed
to advise the council on the procurement of refurbishment works,
new 15-year leases of five leisure centres and the review of draft
management contract documentation.
Comments Richard Wade, partner at Blake
Lapthorn: "This is a key win for the firm as it further enhances
our position in the construction and real estate/property
sectors. We look forward to working with the team at Waverley
Borough Council and building what we hope will be a long-lasting
relationship."
Comments Julie Maskery from Waverley Borough
Council: "We chose Blake Lapthorn to provide our legal services
based on its in-depth knowledge of our industry and the team's
expertise. We very much look forward to working with Richard
and his team moving forward."
