are you ready for the new Construction Act?

On 1 October 2011 the new Construction Act comes into force
replacing important provisions within the existing legislation
concerning payment and dispute resolution. As with the 1996 Act,
the new Act (which is part of the Local Democracy, Economic
Development and Construction Act 2009) will require certain
specific terms to be incorporated within all construction
contracts.
In the lead up to 1 October, Blake Lapthorn's Construction Group
are running two breakfast seminars looking at the changes and their
likely impact. The first took place in its Oxford office on
Wednesday 21 September and the other will take place in its
Chandler's Ford office on Friday 23 September.
The session covered the proposed changes and will look at how
JCT plans to amend its standard forms in light of the new
