Blake Lapthorn solicitors’ Construction group handles all legal
(and many commercial) aspects on a wide range of construction
projects, some of which are 'stand alone' projects and some of
which form part of wider property transactions. The team regularly
advises on procurement options and strategies (often in conjunction
with the professional team or project manager and also on its own
account) as well as advising on the specific legal aspects of the
relevant documentation.

dispute resolution
The team includes a number of lawyers
who specialise in the resolution of construction
disputes. We have a significant depth in this area and we
are able to find the most efficient and cost-effective means by
which to resolve any such dispute, whether by negotiation,
litigation, arbitration, adjudication or ADR. Where
appropriate we will also look to use mediation as a tool to achieve the best
result possible for any particular dispute.
In 2009, the team played an
instrumental part in helping the Technology & Construction
Court (TCC) to launch its new on-line system of issuing claims; we
successfully brought adjudication enforcement proceedings in one of
the very first claims to use this new scheme.
