Elizabeth has an
established reputation as a specialist adviser in charity law and
currently heads our Charities, Education and Social Housing group
(CHESH). She advises not for profit organisations and charities on
governance, trading, fundraising, corporate structures and related
issues. She includes a number of care homes, care services
providers and related not for profit organisations in her client
list and recently advised on the merger of two hospice
charities.
Elizabeth provides support
for practitioners throughout the firm on charity law matters.
She has particular experience in setting up collaborative and
partnering ventures for charities and not for profit enterprises
and in advising on and dealing with charity mergers. Elizabeth also
has substantial experience both in the UK and abroad as a company
commercial practitioner, both in private practice and as in house
legal counsel.
She is appointed to the
Charity Commission panel of Receivers and Managers and Approved
Intermediaries and is a member of the Executive Committee of the
Charity Law Association. She is an active participator in the
work of the Charity Law Association and gives lectures on charity
law.
