public sector

Whilst the public sector tends to be relatively robust
in times of recession, current concern over levels of
public borrowing mean that central and local government are coming
under increasing pressure to reassess how they will
finance, manage and deliver public services in the future.
Our public sector experience, which includes acting for
government departments, national regulators, local authorities and
public sector agencies across the range of our services,
means that we are well placed to provide advice on the complex
legal issues that our public sector clients now face. As a
result we have successfully secured membership of two key
procurement panels for public sector work. The first of these is
Buying
Solutions (formerly known as Catalist), the
Government's centralised legal services 'super panel' on
which we have been awarded places as advisers in
three categories - 'IT, Telecommunications and
E-Commerce', 'Intellectual Property' and 'Property and
Estates'; the second public sector panel is Lit-Cat.
