As well as the work we have done for rolling stock
providers and train operators in recent years, Blake Lapthorn
gained substantial experience in rail sector work in the course of
the original rail privatisation and its aftermath.
During this time we advised several rail industry organisations
on various matters:
- British Railways Board, as one of a small
panel of legal advisers on the development, drafting and
customisation of the National Depot Access Conditions
- several other Passenger TOCs, as legal
advisers appointed to them by BRB in customising the access
agreements for their individual depot access arrangements
- OPRAF, as legal advisers on the invitation to
tender and franchise arrangements for the Island Line (in addition
to Linklaters, OPRAF’s then principal solicitors)
- Stagecoach, as legal advisers on its bid for
the Merseyrail franchise
- Rail Express Systems, on project management
arrangements for the development of the Willesden Post Office Hub
site
- SWIMCo, on matters arising in connection with
tenders for signalling maintenance and renewal.
