The Temporary Workers Directive (TWD): what do
the consultation proposals tell us about how staffing companies
will operate in the future?
details
Following a 'deal' between the CBI the
TUC last May, the TWD was finally adopted into European law in
October 2008. This seminar analysed the detailed proposals being
made by BERR and in particular covered the following:
- what new rights will the TWD create?
- what type of temporary workers will be affected by the
TWD?
- who will be responsible for compliance and how will this work
in practice?
- how can supply models be structured to minimise the impact of
the TWD?
- the Swedish derogation
This seminar was attended by:
- recruiters supplying the services of temporary workers and
company contractors across all sectors
- end-users
- umbrella companies and other employment/payroll
organisations
- anyone supplying the services of individuals to end user
clients, eg CIS intermediary payroll companies
