footprints in the forest

We were delighted to be joined by James Hulse, Director, of the Oxford based Forest Footprint Disclosure (FFD) project at our green breakfast on 7 December in Oxford. FFD engages with private sector companies such as L'Oreal, Marks & Spencer and Drax Power to ask them to disclose their "forest footprint" based on exposure to five key commodities – soy, palm oil, timber, cattle products or biofuels – in their operations and/or their supply chains.

All these commodities have the potential to be sourced from recently deforested land. For the corporate sector FFD offers a place to collaborate with others to understand the reality and the options in global supply chains as well as the opportunities that arise from improved business practices.

To view James' slides, please see below.

The breakfasts start from 7.30 am for something to eat and drink whilst networking. The speakers start at about 8.00 am and finish about 8.45 am. There is a lively Q&A following the speaker with the whole event closing by 9.30 am.
