South Coast green breakfast - Southampton - 30 October 2012 - engaging colleagues in sustainability

details

On Tuesday 30 October 2012 we were joined by Gin Tidridge, B&Q's One Planet Home Range Manager, who joined B&Q back in 1992. After working in stores, marketing and as part of B&Q's international operations Gin has focused on communicating sustainability to customers and colleagues since 2008.

The importance of staff engagement often gets lost in the day to day running of a business. On the subject of social responsibility it is often even harder to get your message across. In 2010, B&Q succeeded in actively engaging 20% of its 30,000 employees in an award winning eco programme as part of its award winning sustainability action plan. Delegates joined us to discuss how green issues cross the border between work, life and home and how all of us in our businesses can engage our staff positively.
