Blake Lapthorn acts for accountants in Southampton merger
Blake Lapthorn's Corporate Finance team has acted
for Southampton-based accountancy firm, Buchanans Ltd, in its
merger with James Cowper.
Nick Gent and Lisa Sigalet of Blake Lapthorn's
Corporate Finance team
provided legal advice to Buchanans for the deal, where the
Southampton based accountants merged with James Cowper,
which provides accountancy and business advice in the Thames
Valley. Following the merger, announced at the end of 2009,
James
Cowper will operate from offices in Newbury,
Reading, Oxford, Henley and Southampton and the combined firm will
have a total of 175 staff offering a full range of accounting,
financial and business advisory services for businesses and private
individuals. James Cowper and Buchanans have worked closely
together for some time and following the merger will trade under
the James
Cowper name.
