Blake Lapthorn's Employment law team held a dismissals workshop at its Oxford office on Tuesday 6 December.

The update provided practical guidance on dealing with dismissals as a result of redundancy, misconduct, poor performance and ill health.

Employment law mistakes are costly and time consuming - are you confident that your organisation is taking the right decisions?

Employers can find the process of dismissing employees difficult and often frustrating. The workshop guided delegates through the minefield, to develop knowledge and give practical guidance in four key dismissal scenarios.

The workshop covered dismissals on the following grounds:

  • redundancy
  • misconduct
  • poor performance
  • ill health.

There was a presentation on each of the above areas followed by a case study. Participative workshops were devised to maximise your learning opportunity. Our employment law team facilitated the workgroups and shared their expertise. Delegates worked in small groups on case studies that illustrate the law and guided them on complex issues.
