Thames Valley HR forum - legal issues on recruitment

Blake Lapthorn's Employment team held its Thames Valley HR forum
on Tuesday 17 January at its Oxford office.
This forum took delegates through areas of concern which HR
professionals and managers alike need to be aware of before, during
and after the interview process. Topics covered included job
advertisements and application forms; the arrangements for and
conduct of interviews; health questionnaires; pre-employment checks
and references; and the making and withdrawing of job offers. We
will highlight how you can seek to protect your business from
claims by following best practice at each stage of the process.
Jim Whiter and Vicky Schollar took delegates through the various
issues to consider, which included a presentation and an
interactive case study that highlighted many of the issues
discussed.
Delegates were able to email any particular queries in advance
of the forum to include within the session.

Following the presentation, delegates had the opportunity to ask
questions and to provide feedback on any issues that they have
faced in the workplace in relation to these specific issues.
