The HSE is a non-departmental body that gives technological, professional and policy advice to the Health and Safety Commission (HSC). It has statutory responsibility for the enforcement of health and safety law, together with local authorities.

Mission statement: The HSE's mission is to protect people's health and safety by ensuring risks in the changing workplace are properly controlled.

RoSPA is a charity that promotes safety and the prevention of accidents in all areas of life by providing information, advice, resources and training. RoSPA aims to campaign for change, influence opinion, educate, inform and contribute to debate.

Mission statement: RoSPA's mission is to save lives and reduce injuries.

Safety Groups UK is part of RoSPA. It is the co-ordinating body for the network of independent local occupational health and safety groups located throughout the UK and affiliated to RoSPA. It provides a forum for debate and the formulation of strategy and policy, promotes health and safety education, disseminates information to members, enters into partnership with organisations having similar objectives and promotes membership of UK health and safety groups.

Mission statement: The mission of Safety Groups UK is to ensure that health and safety groups are key players in the UK health and safety system and in the delivery of UK health and safety strategy.

The Hampshire Health and Safety and Environmental Group comprises 120 organisations ranging from local factories or service providers to municipal bodies and defence related groups. The purpose of the group is to improve access to good health, safety and environmental practice.

Mission statement: The mission of the Hampshire Health Safety and Environmental Group is to be a recognised focal point for high quality, low cost mutual assistance, education and training in health, safety and environmental protection for local businesses.
