The Health and Safety Executive (HSE) is a non-departmental body
that gives technological, professional and policy advice to the
Health and Safety Commission (HSC). It has statutory responsibility
for the enforcement of health and safety law, together with local
authorities.
Mission statement: the HSE's mission is to
protect people's health and safety by ensuring risks in the
changing workplace are properly controlled.
