The team has been involved in many projects including:

  • exploratory work regarding past service liability reduction exercises, including detailed examination of the corporate and individual tax consequences.  Case is now close to the final proposal stage (December 2006)
  • three scheme mergers, acting as advisers to the trustees in 2 and the sponsoring employer in the other.  All relate to defined benefits schemes where our client schemes will be merged into larger schemes
  • scheme re-structuring and amendments for a number of defined benefits schemes, including the Foster Wheeler Pension Plan
  • regulator clearance applications for South West Trains and Norson Group and successfully achieving clearance in both cases 
  • lobbying parliament for payment of compensation to members of schemes who do not fall within any other government rescue arrangements in particular for the APW Trustees
