"Sources were quick to extol the firm's in-house
advocacy capabilities and overall value for money, adding that it
was one of the best choices for the presentation of cases at
tribunals in the field of healthcare, education, legal and even
accountancy."
Chambers UK, A
Client’s Guide to the Legal
Profession
There are some very good firms who have teams specialising in
providing legal advice to professional regulators; however we
believe that ours is the only practice that has evolved with
professional disciplinary advocacy at its core. As a result, unlike
many firms in the field, we undertake nearly all advocacy
ourselves. This provides a cost effective approach and a continuity
of service for our clients.
Our team, which is one of the largest dedicated professional
regulatory advocacy teams in the country, provides specialist
advocacy before interim orders committees, professional conduct
committees, competence committees, fitness to practise,
registration appeals panels and the Care Standards Tribunal. Over
the last few years we have presented over 500 cases. Our experience
means we can handle any level and complexity of case – from routine
cases involving lower level misconduct to multi-defendant and
multi-witness hearings.
We have prosecuted some of the most high profile regulatory
cases involving issues such as:
- the development of fitness to practise
- vulnerable witnesses
- patient confidentiality
- infant mortality
- freedom of speech
- discrimination
- religious/racial intolerance
- national media documentaries.
We also prosecute cases before criminal jurisdictions in respect
of protection of title cases, internet sales and ancillary offence
prosecutions for areas of restricted professional practice.
