corporate governance

We have been consulted by a number of our regulatory clients in
relation to their corporate governance. We are currently assisting
two regulators (one of which is a relatively new regulator) in the
drafting of a suite of governance and framework documents.
In addition we provide a significant volume of advice to public
and voluntary sector organisations on governance and compliance
issues.
We advise a wide range of organisations in the public and
voluntary sector on the powers and responsibilities of their
governing bodies and the proper delegation of powers within their
regulatory and constitutional frameworks. This includes drafting
and updating schemes of delegation and advising on best
practice.
We have advised a number of organisations in the preparation of
their standing orders and ensuring their standing financial
instructions conform to best practice guidance including, where
appropriate, advice on legal, regulatory and HM Treasury
requirements.
We advise on the drafting of detailed conflict of interest
policies for governing bodies and on issues that can arise in
managing conflicts. We are fully conversant with the Seven
Principles of Public Life and with the two reports of the Nolan
Committee. We are also familiar with provisions of the Public
Interest Disclosure Act.
If we can help you, please contact Bradley
Albuery, Chris Alder or Nick
Leale in the Professional Regulatory team.
