statement from Blake Lapthorn Tarlo
Lyons regarding compensation awarded to Jodie
Stock

Blake Lapthorn Tarlo Lyons reports that,
following a claim for multi-million pound damages and compensation
on behalf of Jodie Stock in 2005, the Royal Free Hospital has
admitted to 80% liability for the injuries that Jodie suffered
during her birth.
Jodie suffers from epilepsy, motor and
learning difficulties, which is the result of a delay in her
delivery at the Hospital in Hampstead, London, on 30 October
1989. The compensation that has been awarded to Jodie will be
used for the care and expenses that she will need for the rest of
her life.
Janet Taylor, Jodie’s mother, comments: “Jodie
is not able to earn a living due to her disabilities. We are
pleased that following our claim, the liability for her injuries
has been admitted to and we will hopefully be able to fund the care
and additional costs that Jodie will need in the future.”
Sue Jarvis, the personal injury solicitor at
law firm Blake Lapthorn Tarlo Lyons who is acting for Jodie and her
family, says: “The trust has admitted to 80% liability, which means
Jodie will receive 80% of the total awarded by the court.
There will be an additional hearing to decide on exactly how much
that will be. We hope that the trust will provide an interim
payment so that we can start to provide Jodie with the care that
she needs."
