Collaborative law is designed to minimise the distress of relationship breakdown as far as possible by opting out of the court process to resolve issues.  We have a number of trained individuals.

It means that the couple set the agenda rather than the courts and discuss what they want in a series of face-to-face meetings with their respective lawyers.

who are collaborative practitioners?

These are lawyers and other professionals trained in collaborative practice who help their clients reach a fair agreement.

the collaborative process

  • The couple agree with their lawyers to resolve issues without going to court.
  • Settlement is reached in meetings between the couple and their respective lawyers.
  • All relevant information is disclosed in the process.
  • You remain in control of the process.

If no settlement can be reached, new lawyers have to be instructed for court proceedings.
