four months' imprisonment for drink driver

A man who pleaded guilty to driving whilst six times over the
legal limit has been sentenced to four months' imprisonment. Mr
Peter Banks from East Grinstead, Sussex, was disqualified from
driving for five years when he appeared at Crawley Magistrates'
Court. Mr Banks, who was driving a Nissan Sunny, was stopped by
officers in Station Approach, East Grinstead last Sunday evening.
After failing a roadside breath test, he was taken to a nearby
police station where he took a further breath test. The lowest
reading produced was 210mg alcohol per 100ml of breath. The legal
limit for driving is 35mg. The sentence has been criticised by
anti-drink-driving campaigners, who argued that because of the
extremely high level of alcohol in Mr Bank's breath, the maximum
sentence of six months' imprisonment should have been
imposed.
