South Yorkshire police officer banned from driving

An officer from South Yorkshire police has been banned from
driving after he was convicted of driving without due care and
attention. David Mayes was photographed by a speed camera with his
hands off the wheel and, in one instance, making a thumbs up sign
at the camera whilst answering two separate emergency calls in
Sheffield.
Halifax Magistrates' Court disqualified him from driving
for six months and fined him £400 after he pleaded guilty to
the offences, which took place in the early hours of the morning on
26 July 2007.
