no win, no fee
If you enter into a ‘no win no fee’ agreement, there is no cost
to you in perusing the claim, win or lose.
If you suffered a skiing accident caused by faulty equipment,
inadequate tuition, or the actions of another skier, snow-boarder,
or tobogganist, you may be entitled to claim compensation. Contact
Blake Lapthorn, using the details below, for an assessment by
our specialist team of lawyers handling travel and holiday
claims.
The International Ski Federation has
established ten rules of conduct for skiers and snowboarders to
follow when on the slopes. Although not binding, they should be
followed, and may provide evidence of negligence if breached.
what type of accident can I claim for?
- If you receive tuition from a ski school, and the instructor
does not give adequate tuition, or takes you off-piste resulting in
an accident, you may have a claim against the ski school or the
instructor.
- If a ski lift is not properly maintained, and as a result you
sustain injury, you may have a claim against the ski resort or lift
owner.
- If you are injured as a result of faulty ski equipment that you
have hired, you may have a claim against the person you hired the
equipment from.
- If another skier injures you and you can show breach of the Ski
Federation rules of conduct you may have a claim against that
skier.
where can my claim be brought?
This will depend largely on how and where the accident occurred,
and how the holiday was booked. In a surprisingly large
number of cases we are able to bring the claim in England or
Wales. Call us for a free assessment as to where your claim
can be brought.
Blake Lapthorn will consider the possible locations for your
claim, bearing in mind where to obtain the best compensation, the
legal costs, and different legal systems of different
countries.
how quickly should I claim?
Contact us as soon as possible, taking advantage of our free
initial consultation. Time limits will apply to your claim. If your
holiday was a package holiday, the claim must be within three
years, but claims outside the UK can have much shorter time
limits.
funding your claim – the best option for
you

injury claims can be persued at no cost to you. You may have legal
expenses insurance on your travel insurance, house insurance, or on
your car insurance. Trade union membership sometimes includes legal
expenses insurance. Alternatively, your claim may be eligible for
